London meetup 2026

Yesterday I met up with a few Hivers in London. This is my second meetup this year after Alicante in May. We met up at a local pub for lunch first where @shanibeer who organised the meetup, highlighted the loos worth checking out. She was right!

The pub itself was nice, and it was good to see you can still get a decent lunch for under £10 in London. You can see more of the pub and our meetup from @adetorrent's post here.

After lunch, we headed over to our meeting venue. It was actually the office of a charity organisation where @shanibeer works. She had arranged access over the weekend and we had the whole place to ourselves. We could have held HiveFest here 😄

@shanibeer even arranged tea and coffee and biscuits for us. A must at any British meeting.

We hung around at the meeting area at one end of the office. There was a big table there, and I lay out some Hive merch I bought with me. @steevc also bought some, and together we had a good selection of items. It was popular with the others who had not been to a HiveFest before.

There was no agenda, just casual chatting amongst a group of friends about things in general, both on and off chain, but generally off chain more, the state of things in UK, the impact of AI on life etc...

On AI, @adetorrent talked about how he gets different AIs to talk to each other and see what kind of shenanigans they get up to. He did a demo with two different AI on two mobile phones and got them to role play Ned and a disgruntled user who has lost a lot of money on Shistxxm. It was very interesting to listen to their conversation and see how they interacted. I'm going to try this as well!

Those who know @steevc will know he's a bit of a musician. He bought along a synthesiser as @nicklewis who was originally going to join us is into synthesisers as well. Unfortunately he couldn't make it.

Other attendees included @shanibeer of course. @davidthompson57 who I met some years ago during covid, and @alonicus whom I've had more engagement with recently and I met for the first time. He came with his wife who has a Hive account but isn't active. There were a couple of others who unfortunately couldn't make it last minute, but it was a nice turnout and I think everyone appreciated the meeting.

Splinterlands: End of season report card with review of this new Modern battling system!🔥

After a two-day break, I’ve managed to find some time to be here with you all today—I felt it was essential to put together an end-of-season report. Besides, I was due back at work tomorrow anyway, as that’s when I typically publish my 'Phone Photography' post. So, although I’m a day late with this end-of-season report, here is the performance breakdown for the entire past season. I did play one battle in 'Frontier'—more by mistake than by choice—but since I had no real interest in that format, I didn't play any further there and kept my focus entirely on 'Modern'. In 'Modern', I played a total of 190 battles, securing 114 wins.

This translates to a 60% win rate, placing me at rank 252 on the leaderboard. This means 251 players in my bracket performed better than I did, so there isn't exactly a reason to be overjoyed. However, if I look at it from the perspective of a competitor, this is actually a solid performance. While I have achieved a 60% win rate in the past, it has been a rare occurrence, so reaching it again this season is definitely a positive. Furthermore, I’ve earned around 150k Glint; I spent a significant portion of that mid-season on 'Rare' draws, and I still have about 115k remaining. This is a better result compared to several previous seasons—especially considering that I wasn't able to play as frequently this time around. 🔥

With the new season reset, I have landed in Division 8. Before writing this post, I played two battles and noticed that, even though these are Division 8 matches, the Glint rewards for these initial games have reached up to 100. I’m not sure when this amount will increase—whether it will happen upon reaching the next division or after a few more battles here—but regardless, last season I earned an impressive amount of Glint per battle in Splinterlands. As I mentioned in a previous post, my maximum Glint reward for a single win exceeded 1,300—more than double what I was receiving in rewards prior to that season. Additionally, my SPS token earnings were quite good this time around. While I’m not entirely certain if the full amount shown in the screenshot below was earned solely during this current season, I have gone ahead and claimed the entire balance. This will allow me to provide an accurate assessment of my Glint-earning performance in the end-of-season report.

Overall, following the changes to the modern battle system, I have noticed a significant shift in rewards—I am certain about the 'Glint' aspect, and I will be able to share the reality regarding SPS token earnings at the end of the next season. Furthermore, the game has become much more enjoyable; thanks to the bracket system, you can reasonably anticipate the level of cards your opponent might bring to the match. This prevents you from suddenly facing an overwhelmingly powerful player, ensuring a fair and balanced experience. I hope to play throughout this new season without any breaks, which should lead to even better rewards. 🤞

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥

Splinterlands: After using 250 Alchemy Potions all at once, I finally pulled my first Gold Foil card from the Arcana set!🔥

I had never purchased this many Glints at once before, simply because I had never earned enough to justify such a large expenditure. I wasn't even sure if buying a bulk number of draws would increase the odds of pulling a Gold Foil card, but I still felt a strong urge to purchase 50 or 100 draws at once. For Common draws, this wouldn't be too difficult—at 300 Glints per draw, 100 Common draws would cost only 30,000 Glints. However, doing the same for Rare draws would require 150,000 Glints, plus the cost of 5 Alchemy Potions per draw, which would make the total expense significantly higher. As for Epic and Legendary draws, I’m not even sure if such a bulk purchase is even possible. In any case, I decided to go ahead and purchase 50 Rare draws at once, for which I bought 250 Alchemy Potions at a cost of 24,750 Glints. Additionally, I spent another 75,000 Glint on 50 rare draws.🔥

Buying 50 cards at once was my biggest purchase to date, so naturally, I had high expectations. However, a 'gold card' was nowhere in my expectations—having used thousands of 'alchemy potions' in the past without ever pulling a single gold card, I’ve long since stopped hoping for one. My goal was simply to get better cards, and, frankly, that expectation was met; I actually pulled some excellent cards across various elements, equipped with a diverse range of attack powers—it had a great balance of power.

But this time, a miracle happened—something I hadn’t expected at all: I pulled a gold-foil card from one of my 50 rare draws. It’s my first gold card from the Arcana set, but honestly, it took so long to arrive that I didn’t feel any real excitement. You know how it goes—you keep trying, giving it your best, and pinning your hopes on something, but nothing ever happens. Eventually, you get tired, let go of that hope, and start finding joy in what you actually have instead of what you were chasing. Then, one day, the very thing you once dreamed of finally happens—but it doesn’t bring any extraordinary surge of joy. That’s not to say you aren’t happy about it; it’s just that you’re no longer as thrilled as you would have been had it arrived a bit sooner. :)

While I wouldn't call it an "extraordinary" stroke of luck, I am certainly happy—partly because this is a card I really like. It’s the "Grove Doomblade," a Fire-element card with a massive melee attack. I received it as a Gold Foil version, already upgraded to Level 2; in addition to the standard Level 1 stats, it also gains the "Fury" ability. This allows it to strike with double power against any enemy possessing the "Taunt" ability—meaning its base melee attack of 5 hits with a total of 10 melee damage against a Taunt-enabled card. I already owned a Level 2 version of this card in a regular (non-foil) format, which I used in my daily battles, so I can confirm from experience that it is a truly excellent card.

Additionally, cards like Torrent Sniper, Mindless Thrall, Pixie-knife Hurler, Gravebrand Warlock, Saltwraith Bulkhead, Dragonfang Lancer, Anchor-Hex Adept, Surgehammer, and Withered Old Sage are among my favorites; they consistently provide excellent support in various battles. Most of these are already upgraded to at least Level 2, with several reaching Level 3, so it is likely that these additional copies will allow some of them to be upgraded to even higher levels. Moving forward, I plan to save up all my Glint for the remainder of this season; if my earnings turn out to be strong, I intend to purchase three or more Legendary cards at once in the coming season. 🤞

$HIVE, $BTC & ETH/BTC Technical Analysis - 18.10.2026

Today I sat down to my desk, restarted my laptop, opened Tradingview, had a look at the $HIVE chart and asked myself if I want to do the analysis 😬 I haven't checked the chart since last week but I have seen my stake's USD value shrinking quite a bit, which can only indicate one thing. Anyway, it's part of the game when you're holding crypto.

On the monthly time frame, price is way below the monthly open and below the 200 SMA as well, which is not unexpected, if we look at the crypto market as a whole. We'll see when the monthly candle closes.

On the weekly time frame, after spending three weeks above the 200 SMA, it looks like this week price is going to close below it. There's a possibility for price to retest the weekly order block (OB) at $0.044. The interesting thing on this time frame is that the candle has no wicks on either side. It looks like price sold off starting from the open. Anyway, levels to watch are the OB and $0.0663 on the upside, if we get a reversal and enough momentum to reach it, by some miracle.

On the daily time frame, price lost the 200 SMA on Monday, closed below mid-range on Thursday and is retesting the bullish gap and 0.618 as we speak. This is a crucial level to hold, so a bounce here, or from inside the gap, after the gap has been rebalanced would be the ideal scenario.

Regaining mid-range, after which the 200 SMA as support is crucial, if we want bullish continuation on this time frame.

On the h4 time frame, price is retesting the order block and the 0.618 level. It is possible for price to spend some time in this area but it's a crucial level to hold.

If there's more weakness in the market, we could see $0.0434 retested, or we can get a bounce here and as I said at the previous time frame, reclaim mid-range and turn 200 SMA into support.

Interesting price action on $BTC. Price has already retested the 0.618 level and bounced back to mid-range, which is inside the support/resistance area. Decision time next week, price needs to make a move but I see weakness, so sweeping $79,750 looks likely from where I stand.

Levels to watch are $79,750 on the downside and if it doesn't hold, then the swing low could be next at $74,919, which is another support/resistance area. On the upside, if we get a bounce at some point, I'd keep an eye on $84,332.5, then swing high at $87,383.

Looks like after a long time, is going to close below the 200 SMA. It is approaching the swing low and if we don't get a bounce after sweeping $0.029815, it may reach the support/resistance area, which is crucial level to hold.

Splinterlands Saltwraith Pirate | A Little Melee Attacking Rat

Hello my fellow Splinterlands Warriors,

Welcome back to another fresh and juicy Splinterlands post, and I hope all of you are doing pretty well in your lives and enjoying an awesome day with your loved ones. Now, if you are one of those undefeated Web3 gamers who are actively engaging in this card-based strategy game, then I guess you are actively playing in this ongoing ranked and frontier season as well, and also taking care of the brawl and tournaments. If you look closely at the season clock, there are still 13 days and 23 hours left before this season ends, so we have plenty of time to improve our trophy counts and climb towards our desired league tiers. Whether you are playing to reach a particular league tier or to earn a spot on the top Champion leaderboard, I hope you get there faster this time.

Now, talking about me, I am, as usual, playing in the Gold I league currently with 2,800 trophies, and my target is to reach 4,000 trophies this season. There is still a long way to go, but with nearly two weeks remaining, I will try my best to climb higher and achieve my goal. Let's see how far I can go this time! Moving on to the weekly raffle, I currently have 42 entries, and there is still 1 day and 22 hours left before the raffle ends. My target is to reach somewhere between 54 and 57 entries this time. I am already getting close to my target, so I will keep collecting more entries during the remaining time and hope for some good luck when the results are announced.

Now, talking about my daily activity in wheel, today marks my 152nd consecutive streak day in the daily wheel. This time, I received 3 Frontier Energy. My total Sparks count remains at 22,653, and I will continue playing and collecting rewards as long as possible. Keeping the streak alive is always a nice feeling, and every little reward counts when we are trying to make steady progress in the game.

I also opened 6 Foundation packs earned from the last two days' rewards. This time, I got 8 Rare cards, including 2 Archons, along with 2 Gold Foil Common cards, while the remaining cards were regular Foil Common cards. Getting multiple Rares and two Gold Foils from these packs is a nice result, I would say. Let's hope the next pack opening brings even more exciting rewards!

Saltwraith Pirate

Now moving on to today's featured monster, let us take a closer look at another interesting monster from the newest Reward card set. As you have already seen in the title above, today we will be discussing Saltwraith Pirate, a little melee-attacking rat that can offer some interesting benefits to its team. So, if you are interested in knowing more about this Neutral monster and its abilities, then let's take a deep dive without any further ado.

Saltwraith Pirate is a monster-type card that was first seen in the game with the launch of the latest Reward edition card set. This monster belongs to the Redoentian bloodline and comes as an Epic card. It costs only 4 Mana and uses Melee attacks. Although it is a small monster with low Speed, it has a decent combination of Armor and Health that can make it useful in low- to medium-mana battles. At its maximum level, this monster possesses 3 abilities, including some useful features that can support its allies and make its attacks more reliable. As an Epic card, you will need 46 BCX cards to upgrade Saltwraith Pirate to its maximum level. Let's now take a look at its stats and abilities at different league levels.

BRONZE

At Level 2, Saltwraith Pirate possesses 2 Melee attack, 1 Speed, 1 Armor, and 3 Health, along with the Bloodline Tribute ability. Even at this early level, it can contribute something useful to the team beyond its own attacks, especially when fighting alongside monsters from the same bloodline.

Doubling down.

It's kind of crazy to think that, in the eyes of others, you can be such a different person from who you really are. Whether in the personal or professional field, being yourself reflects a multitude of "clones" that each person decides to believe in. No matter what you say or do, if they already have an opinion formed about you, it becomes unlikely that they will change their minds (even if they want to, but don't recognize that they are wrong).

In the midst of these more specific "storms" of behavioral analysis (as if all the people judging you were superior to what they themselves can't even be), it is necessary to know your own worth, and the limit of what can (or cannot) be seen or said about you becomes more defined. This won't change what they say or think about you... However, it changes the way you react to it. Once you know yourself, the foundation remains. This makes all the difference while your different versions are analyzed by those who always observe you.

Knowing yourself is always the best way to move forward. After all, if you can't do that, it's much easier for other people to define whatever they want about who you are or what you do. The limits must be imposed by yourself; however, not by using brute force or bad manners... but rather, with actions that work in your favor and make all the other reflections about you disappear. Everything depends precisely on your actions, because it is the reactions that come after them that will keep - or not - that "target" on your back.

Therefore, it is important to double down and make yourself even greater (and better). When you play your cards right, those who see you incorrectly (or even maliciously) may insist on not changing their opinion; their thoughts may remain the same; but if your actions speak the opposite of what was said... The problem is automatically thrown to the other side of the line (and no, you shouldn't go there... because the territory is very hostile).

又土又木的一天

各位小伙伴们好！友哥是土木人，所以今天又是，又土又木的一天！和土打交道的一天。友哥今天发现了，可以看成是艺术品的土块。欢迎继续阅读了解！

在抖音上，会刷到，有的人去隔壁捡到好看的石头，要么是形状好看，要么是颜色好看的。友哥昨天分享了，友哥现场，也有比较好看的石头。今天在某现场，友哥发现了，不是石头，而是一个土块。

这个土块，其实是白蚁窝的一部分，白蚁筑巢的本领，是挺厉害的。这块土块，其实可以算是半岩石了，相当相当硬，使大大的力道，摔到大石头上，才能摔成两半。

白蚁却能把这么硬的土块，挖出洞，筑成巢，友哥看过一个视频，专门介绍白蚁穴里面的结构。里面简直就是宫殿，白蚁的防御体系，也是很厉害的呢。

友哥是看着这个比较好看，好玩，有趣，就拿在手里，把玩一下，拍了几张照片。你还别说，还真挺像艺术品的呢。

Earlier today, I had a bit of extra time to spare, and since I couldn't go out cycling because of the haze, I decided to spend my afternoon exploring another Hive-based game. I wasn't really planning to play anything new today, but I'm glad I did because I discovered something quite interesting!

A few days ago, I came across a post by @rozioo that was reblogged by @bossdebz. It caught my attention because it introduced a game called Hive Town. I quickly checked it out but didn't do anything right away since I didn't have enough time to understand how it worked.

Today, I finally remembered to revisit the game. After reading a few posts about it, I left a comment on @rozioo's blog and received a helpful reply from @atnazo, who gave me the brief introduction I needed to get started.

It gave me an idea of the activities I could participate in, especially the Halloween-themed quests involving pumpkin watering, zombie hunting, and exploring the Dark Ruins.

My First Stop... The Creator House

Before starting my adventure, I decided to explore the Creator House, where Hive users can promote their blog posts.

I was surprised by how simple the process was. All I needed to do was paste my Hive post link into the designated field and click "Promote for 24 hours."

That's it! My post was submitted for community voting and promotion.

I think this is a nice feature because it introduces another way for Hive creators to bring attention to their content while participating in an interactive environment.

🎃 Watering Pumpkins... The Easiest Quest!

My first Halloween activity was watering pumpkins at the Pumpkin Garden.

This was probably the easiest activity in the entire game, LOL!

I simply visited the garden, clicked on it, and a dialogue box appeared with the option to water the community pumpkin.

Each watering earns 5 leaderboard points, and according to the instructions, players can water once every two hours.

It's a simple activity, but I like how it encourages players to revisit Hive Town regularly and contribute toward a community event.

🧟 Zombie Arena... Things Got Exciting!

After watering pumpkins, I followed the link leading to the Zombie Arena.

This was where things started getting exciting!

The objective is straightforward: survive and kill as many zombies as possible. However, it's definitely easier said than done, LOL!

During my first few attempts, I barely moved around, and the zombies quickly surrounded and killed me.

After several tries, I realized that movement is crucial. Instead of standing still and shooting, I started running around while attacking the zombies to avoid getting overwhelmed.

Eventually, I managed to improve my survival time and kill more zombies.

My best score so far is 27 zombie kills, placing me 11th on the Zombie Arena leaderboard!

Not bad for my first day, right? LOL!

💀 Exploring the Dark Ruins

My next adventure took me outside Hive Town through the gates leading to the Dark Ruins.

This part of the game felt like a proper dungeon adventure. The environment was creepy, with monsters waiting inside rooms and a powerful mummy guarding the final chamber.
