People Think I Have Money. Yesterday, I Had $3 Left to Feed My Mom and Myself.

Yesterday, I had exactly $3 left to buy myself and my mom food, and my bank decided that was the perfect time to block my account because I entered the wrong password a couple of times. Another time, someone even asked me to borrow money as if I have money to spare. I think I need to spell it out to them, I am dead broke. I have debt that I don't even know how to pay despite having some questionable jobs.

I have downgraded my life to the point where I used to think about killing myself feels a lot cuter now. The life I have right now is even hell-ish and somehow despite it all, I keep my abundance mindset and thinking a lot less about dying. It's still there though, just an option Z for now.

Despite how bad I am struggling right now, I have this mindset, money comes to me easily, money is everywhere. If money is gone, tomorrow there will be money. Maybe money is even an illusion. What if there will be no money? well, that's interesting question. Maybe it's time to consider all options including the Z option.

Listen, I am tired. Even my other mom makes it challenging for me to earn money. I know making money is already challenging but I am dead tired. Like why would she even pay my $55 payment on installment. Like make it make sense? but I can't complain I guess. Everyone is struggling too. but I know damn well I can stretch that $55 in one go than having them on installment? That's just insane.

Then, this morning after going to the bank to fix my account and card, I decided to get a coffee and water. Somehow, I found out the water was about $1.7??????? like damn. I thought the water would be just a few cents. From my $13 I spent $1.7 on a fucking water and my coffee was like $1.4 something, that's even cheaper.

But when you manifest so hard and learn to cultivate abundance mindset, it doesn't bother me at all? It's interesting for sure that I throughout my life I rarely ask for a price. I just buy things regardless of the cost esp when I need them. It never registers to my decision making. Even when I have tight budget, I'd focus on functionality than price.

This is why despite money tight, I'd never skimp and skip on coffee because my brain runs on it. I tell my mom this, sure I can live without coffee or caffeine hitting my system but I will not be as near as productive as I am. Most I'd do is probably work about an hour, sleep and do some minor task. But when your job is all about speed, delivery and brain, I need it.

In a year I go on and off caffeine for weeks at a time but that typically aren't the days when I need to be work at a faster speed/rate. Maybe I am an addict. Though, like anything else I have tried, it's easy for me to quit and forget about it.

It's just that with coffee, I decided to keep that poison😂

Maybe in a world where there is no coffee, I'd be old enough not to need money / look for jobs to survive. I'd be ok living without coffee and won't care at all but that's not the reality I am in right now, so there is that.

You Haven't Paid Me, But Somehow, I Should Contribute Money For Your Birthday

Something interesting is happening in my place of work and I just want to share it here, and I will sincerely love to hear your opinion on this. In the next few days, our director will be celebrating her birthday, and a dress was brought by her Personal Assistant last week for us to buy, insisting it's the colour of the day. The clothe is 14 thousand naira and less I forget, we will also contribute money to get a gift for her. Mind you we haven't been paid.

Honestly I have been wondering, when did working for someone become an automatic invitation to finance their personal celebrations? I thought birthdays are personal occasions, if I decide to celebrate my birthday, I will invite people if I wish and spend what I can afford. I don't really understand why someone should make their birthday celebrations a responsibility for other people, and this has caused some kind of fuss in my work place.

The hight of it all is that, they said if you don't have the money at hand, it will be deducted from your salary, and I had to ask if it was part of the job description that I never read..

I don't have a problem with anyone celebrating their birthday. In fact, I wish everyone the opportunity to celebrate as many birthdays as they want. But why should employees be made to feel obligated to spend their money on their employer's birthday?

The fact that I work for you doesn't mean I have automatically signed up to sponsor your personal events.

And let's not even forget that these are people whose salaries are yet to be paid. How do you comfortably ask someone who is waiting for their hard-earned money to contribute towards your celebration?

What if that person has been managing the little money left in their account? What if they have bills waiting? What if they have other important things they need to spend money on?

Must they now put those things aside because their employer has a birthday coming up?

Personally, I believe gifts should be given willingly. If I decide to buy you something, it should be because I want to, not because I am being pressured into it.

Anyway, maybe I am missing something here.

Is it now compulsory for employees to contribute towards their employer's birthday celebration simply because they work for them?

I would genuinely like to hear what other people think about this.

Did I ever tell you I'm bad at maths?

I can't say I don't know how to do the maths. I do. But if I have someone who can do it for me, then why not? So I handed it over to Copilot, and I hope that's not a terrible sin. 😄

Anyway, that's the least important part of this post. What I'd really like to read is your opinion about a few things that happened.

Yesterday, on my way home after picking up my power station, which I had to send off for repairs... 😒 Oh dear, that's a whole different story... but let's stick to what I came here to tell you about... I stopped at a place that sells food. They offer different meal combinations, but they all have one thing in common: roast pork. Oh, the smell of that stuff... especially when I'm absolutely worn out from cycling and haven't eaten nearly enough. That's not me being dramatic, it's simply the truth. I have the feeling that I don't eat properly these days because prices keep going up and up, and they've become so excessive that it's getting harder and harder to afford a balanced and healthy diet.

In the end I didn't buy anything. I looked at the prices, I hadn't even done the two deliveries that I got called for shortly after arriving home, I had very little cash in my wallet, and on top of that I'd been thinking about how one of my priorities right now is buying a voltage protector for my power station. It costs twice what I earned yesterday afternoon. So I told my stomach:

"Hang in there. No unnecessary expenses."

I was already quite close to home, and at home I could heat up some rice and beans, make myself a smoothie, drink plenty of cold water... In other words, I filled my mind with those comforting images and managed to resist spending the little money I had on a plate of food. Anyway, I probably didn't have enough money with me either. I only had about 2,000 CUP in my wallet.

Then I noticed a faded sign, barely visible, almost as if it had been written in pencil. It said:

"Doctors eat for free."

And as that roast pork smell continued driving me mad, I looked away and noticed, right next to it, a produce stand selling fruit and vegetables. There I saw some oranges that were so... so orange, so tempting, that I walked straight over.

I knew they weren't Cuban oranges the moment I saw them. They were Chilean. I read it on a box sitting at the bottom of the display. I asked the price. The man told me they were 3,000 CUP per pound. I couldn't help laughing. I said, "but a pound of those oranges must be, what, two oranges?" He replied that it wasn't even quite two.

So, I left with a pleasant feeling about that sign aimed at doctors, although it had clearly been placed where hardly anyone would notice it. At the same time, I felt... honestly, I don't even know what I felt. All I could think about were the kilometres I ride every day, the stress I go through, the dangers I face just to earn 3,000 CUP.

Three thousand CUP. The equivalent of barely one and a half oranges. Or less.

But that's not really the point of this post.

We're getting there. Hold on.

That afternoon, one of the errands I had was to pick up some alum stones, a 100% natural deodorant, and deliver them to the people who wanted to buy them.

There were six of them.

I paid for them with my own money: 18,000 CUP.

Three thousand CUP each.

I don't know... there goes that number again. Three thousand. Maybe it's a sign or something.

Anyway... I bought them, delivered them, and did my job. When I make the delivery, I'm reimbursed for the money I spent on the products, plus the courier fee, which is charged according to the number of kilometres travelled from the place where the product is purchased to the delivery location. This is all agreed upon with the customer in advance.

But today I saw that the person I delivered those alum stones to is reselling them for 10,000 CUP each. 😶

And then, in a WhatsApp status, I came across this advert about Chilean oranges.

Minimum order: one pallet, priced at 58 USD per box.

Minimum order: one box, at 64 USD per box.

It's the wholesale warehouse that sells them, and that's the price whether you buy a single box or a full pallet of those orange crates.

Hello hivians, evening greetings from my location.

Today someone said something to me that made me smile. Sincerely I was not in the mood to smile but I saw myself smiling uncontrollably.

He said, I can give you my money to keep, because I trust you.
That one sentence is worth more than gold.

In this world we are living in, where many people are looking for who to cheat, being trustworthy is like a rare currency.
Not everybody has it.

Why I Believe Being Trustworthy Pays are;

Trust Opens Doors That Money Cannot Open.
There are jobs I have gotten not because I am the most qualified, but because someone said that guy is trustworthy. In my farm work, people give me land to use because they know I will not spoil it. In my area, people leave their children with me because they trust me.

Your Name Becomes Your CV.
Long ago when I was living and working in another man's area, I was just a stranger. I had nothing. But I was trustworthy. I did not steal. I did not lie. I kept my word. Today, years later, when I met my friend again, they still respected me because my trustworthiness remained in his memory.

Being Trustworthy Gives You Peace Of Mind.
When you are trustworthy, you sleep well at night.
You don't fear phone calls.
You don't hide when someone who knows you is passing.
You can walk with your head high.

What People Don't Understand in life is many think that being smart means cheating others. That if you don't cheat, you are a mugu.

But let me tell you the truth the cheat may gain small money today, but he loses big opportunities tomorrow.

Nobody wants to do business twice with a cheat.
But a trustworthy man, people will travel from far to come and find him.
They will say go to that man, he will not cheat you.

I have seen it in my farming business. Customers now call me from far places to supply, not because my farm produce is the biggest, but because they know if I say it is 10kg, it is truly 10kg.

My Advice
If you want to build a future, build trust.
Keep to your promise, even when it hurts you.
Return what is not yours, even when no one is watching.
Say the truth, even when lying would be easier.

At the end, being trustworthy pays more than any quick money you can make by cheating.

Trust is slow to build, but it is quick to destroy.
Guard it.

GemiDoc, Music for the Dead, and the Happiest Girl in the World

Well, I guess the universe didn't like me talking so high and mighty about how young and fancy I was feeling last week, because it sent me a rather unpleasant, painful one which landed me in not one, but two hospitals. And through both, it wasn't the pain, discomfort, or subsequent anxiety which bothered me most, but this utterly corrupt, messed up system that is Romanian healthcare.

To say the conditions here are apalling would be an understatement (I mean, at least, for a country in the EU). Dirty, cramped waiting rooms, angry, abusive nurses, and unethical behavior around every corner, as we say round these parts, may God protect you from ending up in one of our hospitals. Sinister places that flashed back all sorts of unpleasant memories and rightful rage from them good old pandemic times.

Not that I needed a confirmation, but I definitely feel more entitled in my skepticism toward the medical system now. Just in the last few days, I encountered a doctor deciding I should "go on the IV", without so much as informing me what was in there (thankfully, I hold to my guns and asked), and another lambasting me for "promising" to take part in a study she runs and then changing my mind(something I never did, and even if I had somehow suggested I might, it would be profoundly unethical to try and force me to take medication I do not want). Fuckers. Absolutely insane, but it'll definitely cure you of any ailment. Rather than be stuck in a Romanian hospital? Absolutely anything.

Much as I am wary and skeptical of AI, I did spend a good deal of time in the last few days with good old Gemini, dissecting ailments and pills. A lot of our doctors complain about and mock patients searching their symptoms on Chattie, then coming in all haughty and arrogant, as though they know better than the doctor. Then again, in a system where the doctor can't bother to listen to you for more than 3 minutes, I guess it's no surprise Gemini wins.

Anyway, sorry, wanted to get that out of the system. If you ever do come to Romania, take out travel insurance, so you can go to private care if needed.

One thing I've found profoundly helpful over the last few days has been, of course, music. I haven't listened to much of it lately, but it struck me how much better I seemed to feel whenever I had something turned on. That even if I had been feeling weak or uncomfortable just before, I'd find myself singing along to my favorite songs and just, overall, feeling a lot better simply because there was music.

Well, we had a long playlist that was medical-related this past weekend, to at least savor the irony, which included A Cure for Pain. While I knew the song, I didn't know the full album, and must say, this one and a few other of the more jazzy numbers (like Dawna, for instance) were extremely well-placed.
To keep me resting, Fish introduced me to a fun little game about properly running a hospital, and jamming to this while playing was by far one of the most soothing moments of the last few days.

And this. Halestorm, one of those bands that, like Alternosfera, make me sing out loud and put me in a better mood instantly regardless of the situation. I've long been fascinated by this song's energy, and knew for a very long time I hoped to find something that would make me feel like this (ideally sans the abusive relationship in the song :D).

And how could I not be happy, the happiest of all, perhaps, when I have? For me, there is no other. So I guess all minor, passing grievances (and even the worst ones, the ones that come to stay and wreck your world) are worth it, if it means getting to live this life I'm living.

The presidential elections here in Brazil have come to an end after a showdown in the second round. Luis Inácio Lula da Silva was running against Flávio Bolsonaro. The final result of the electronic ballots led to the re-election of the political left representative. Lula will serve his fourth term, becoming the first president to be elected in a second-round presidential race after being defeated in the first round. This fact is historic.

Historically speaking, these electoral periods are usually strongly marked by the disclosure of different types of scandals involving (directly or indirectly) their candidates. This year was no different. However, there was a significant increase in the immersion of scandals; which, by the way, are still completely unresolved (and it is very likely that, legally, they will remain so for a long time before being properly judged).

The country now has "a new" president; but he will need to fight to assert his authority in the face of a group opposed to his ideologies, which today, across the various political spheres involving other sectors (such as senators and deputies), formed a considerable majority in this complex political chessboard. Outside of this scope, the social legacy is seen as a polarized chapter because Brazilian society still seems very divided after this.

Amidst this entire period of electoral campaigns, people have lost even more respect for one another. Of course, I can't generalize this situation, but the feeling of disunity is even stronger after all the events that have happened in the past few months. The lack of empathy is another important point, as well as the legally guarantyd right to express (and propagate) all ideas, which has been "swallowed" by maneuvers involving big techs.

Socially speaking, it is also essential to remember how many families and groups of friends have been torn apart (even if for a brief period of time); simply because they think differently in their choices. On the other hand, it is quite difficult to understand how some people choose to defend ideologies that are clearly bad for common sense; just as it is difficult to respect these same people again (some of whom are part of our closest circle).

I prefer to believe in a better country from now on, but I can no longer nurture that idea as much as I should, precisely because of everything I have seen happen (especially during this most recent electoral period). The political race is over, but the damage left by a part of the nation that still doesn't know how to exercise the right to democracy is long-term (and some, perhaps, are simply irreparable depending on each unique context).

Las elecciones presidenciales aquí en Brasil llegaron a su fin después de un enfrentamiento en la segunda vuelta. Luis Inácio Lula da Silva estaba disputando contra Flávio Bolsonaro. El resultado final de las urnas electrónicas hizo que el representante de la izquierda política fuera entonces reelegido. Lula ejercerá su cuarto mandato, convirtiéndose en el primer presidente en ser elegido en una carrera presidencial de segunda vuelta tras haber sido derrotado en la primera vuelta. Este hecho es histórico.

Históricamente hablando, estos períodos electorales suelen estar fuertemente marcados por la divulgación de diferentes tipos de escándalos que involucran (directa o indirectamente) a sus candidatos. Este año no fue diferente. Sin embargo, hubo un expresivo aumento en la inmersión de los escándalos; que por cierto, aún continúan totalmente abiertos (y es muy probable que, jurídicamente, ellos aún continúen así por un largo tiempo antes de ser debidamente juzgados).

El país ahora tiene "un nuevo" presidente; pero que necesitará luchar para hacer valer su autoridad frente a un grupo contrario a sus ideologías que, hoy, ante las diversas esferas políticas que involucran otros sectores (como senadores y diputados), fueron una mayoría considerable en este complejo tablero político. Fuera de este ámbito, el legado social es visto como un capítulo polarizado, porque la sociedad brasileña parece estar aún muy dividida después de eso.

My neighborhood recently

Some days are very stressful and filled with different emotions. Happiness is never forced but it is something that should flow freely. I had something that took me off point the past weekend and thought to share it here with my friends on Hive.

Hello friends welcome to my blog I will be narrating what happened between my neighbor and his girlfriend.

There is this girl who always visited my neighbor, she will always cook for him and do all his house chores and greeted anyone she met in the neighborhood. She even made friends with the nextdoor neighbor and even offered them food each time she cooked. She will buy gifts most times and share to her neighbors children.

She even surprised her boyfriend’s siblings with airtime and little gifts. She was just too kind. One day she visited her boyfriend only to find another woman in the house. The boyfriend who is my neighbor told her to leave that he had a special guest but she bluntly refused. She said she doesn't mind waiting for him to finish with his special guest. He insisted and after so much dragging, she went to the house of the next door neighbor and stayed until evening when she saw her boyfriend escorting her with his hands wrapped around her waist.

Surprisingly, she was not angry. She stood up and stood at the door of his house waiting for him and when he came back, she followed him inside the house without a question. He apologized to her and they both went inside. One day, she moved her things into his house without his knowledge, he only came back to see the house rearranged and her things well fitted. She even brought lots of kitchen appliances too. He kept quiet untill the past weekend.

They were both on each other's neck. He threw her out and threw her things out too. He asked her to leave. That he was tired of the relationship. She refused to leave, their disturbance began to cause attraction in the neighborhood. Security was also called on them and that was how area boys and security dragged the girl out of the neighborhood, some people helped in carrying her properties and yet the guy stood there fiddling with his phone as if he never knew her. What a pity. I hope she finds a better relationship.

Muting The Bots

Muting The Bots

There are a few things that I've been finding really annoying about some of the things going on with Hive lately. One of them is definitely the bots with people calling the commands all the time! Lol

Bots have always been a thing on the Hive blockchain. For a while there were bid-bots, but unless you've been around Hive since before it became Hive, you likely don't remember those. They were services where people could pay a value and you would get an upvote based on how much you sent to them. It was quite a service and there are some people still here on the chain that made a lot of money off that type of stuff, both as a user as well as a provider.

I digress a little bit on that end but I wanted to iterate the point that Bots have always been a part of the Hive blockchain, because well they have their uses. With the advent of 2nd layers like Hive Engine and hopefully expanding more in the realm of DLUX we have the addition of a vast number of tokens if we think about it. One of the turns that this number of tokens has taken recently though, and I find it a little bit annoying in some ways but nice in others, is that people have configured a bot to provide said token to someone as a way to manually distribute the token.

I think this is overall really good and a nice thing to do for people, as you can directly support someone in so many ways lately. Pizza tokens, PGM, LOL and so many others are all tokens that people distribute to others via comments and commands to the bot services.

What really has started to annoy me though is when I see a post and I'm thinking "whoa this one must be pretty good! It's got 20 comments, that's awesome!" and then I get into the post, read it and get to the bottom to leave a little bit of feedback and see what the conversation is at the end of the post and what I end up finding is a bunch of horse shit bot commands and replies! Sometimes I see people call three or four bots at once per comment! What the fuck man?! Lol

The bot command stuff has really gotten out of hand I think! I don't want to sound like an old timer or anything.. but I remember when comments were comments and if you saw many comments on a post they were legit back and forth from the people in the post instead of this incessant volume of spam bullshit.

With that being said, I've gone through and started muting the damn bots! Lol. The bot I haven't muted on purpose right now is Hive Buzz because I like that one, shoot me for my bias I know. The other ones though, even though they give tokens and might have some type of utility, ya those are all getting muted. I'm going to keep an eye on the posts in the community and make sure I cover all the damn bases on those things! Lol. It's nothing against the people who run the bot or the people who use it to generate some type of reward for the person that they are commenting or having a conversation with in the comments but damn is it annoying. I love to see some good engagement on posts but seeing 10 or more comments and all of them coming from the various bots that people are summoning really annoys me.

Cleaning house is all I can say! Lol
