GTA VI and a trip to the brothel to add more realism - devs doing stuff

Rockstar Games has always been known for creating open worlds that feel surprisingly alive, but Grand Theft Auto VI appears to be taking that philosophy to another level. Instead of relying solely on satellite images, online maps and digital references, the developers spent years traveling through Florida to experience the places and environments that would eventually inspire the fictional state of Leonida.

The research was not limited to the obvious tourist attractions. According to Rupert Humphries, Rockstar's senior vice president of narrative, members of the team made numerous trips to Florida during development, attempting to experience as many different aspects of the state as possible. That meant driving through different areas at night, visiting beaches, exploring the Everglades and spending time in the Florida Keys.

Perhaps the most unusual part of the research involved former police officers. Rockstar reportedly brought retired cops along during some of its nighttime expeditions, giving the developers a perspective that would be difficult to obtain simply by looking at photographs or browsing Google Maps.

Their experience could help the team understand how different parts of Florida feel after dark, including areas where crime and law enforcement are a major part of everyday life.

The developers also visited nightclubs and strip clubs as part of their research. While that detail sounds like something that could easily become a joke among fans, it actually fits Rockstar's approach to world-building. GTA VI is expected to portray a version of Florida where luxury, poverty, tourism, crime and entertainment exist remarkably close to one another.

That contrast is particularly important for Leonida. Rockstar isn't simply recreating Miami and placing a few fictional characters inside it. The studio wants players to feel that the world continues to exist even when they are not following the main story. The small details surrounding the protagonists, from the people they encounter to the environments they travel through, are supposed to contribute to that illusion.

Rockstar has used a similar philosophy in previous games. For GTA IV, members of Rockstar North traveled to New York and reportedly worked with former police officers while researching the city. The studio also conducted extensive historical research for Red Dead Redemption, visiting archives and real-world locations to better understand the environments represented in the game.

What makes the research behind GTA VI particularly interesting is the sheer variety of Florida that Rockstar appears to have studied. The game will move beyond the bright streets of Vice City into areas inspired by swamps, rural communities, coastal locations and other parts of the state.

Recent information about the game has also highlighted its larger world and more dynamic weather, including tropical storms and hurricanes.

All of this suggests that Rockstar's goal is not simply to make GTA VI look like Florida. The studio wants Leonida to feel like Florida. When players eventually drive through its streets, visit its beaches or venture into its wilderness, the hope is that those environments will carry the personality of the real places that inspired them.

That level of research may seem excessive for a video game, but with GTA VI, those tiny details could be exactly what separates another impressive open world from one that feels genuinely alive.

Bought a Simson S51 and other equipment for the farm || Game Farming Simulator 17

For some time now, I've wanted to buy a motorcycle so I can get around my farm more quickly and efficiently. Recently, I had to sell my pickup truck because I had debts with the bank and needed to buy a few things. It hurt to sell it because it was my companion for supervising the work around the farm, but I also learned that without sacrifices and financial strategies, my progress will be even slower than it already is. I bought a fairly cheap and simple motorcycle. I think this bike is a perfect fit for a farmer.

It's a red Simson S51, and it cost me $600. After buying it, I went to the store to pick it up and took the opportunity to test it around the area. Honestly, it's very easy to handle, reaches a top speed of 74 km/h, and has an 8-liter fuel tank.

On my way back, I stopped by the chicken coop to collect the day's eggs and took a short ride around the fields to see how my workers were getting along with their tasks.

Then I parked the motorcycle in a shed next to one of the fields and set out to check market prices. My goal was to sell the more than 23,000 liters of soybeans stored in the silos. Before the sale, I had a little over $6,000 in my account. After completing the transaction with a company called "Denton Bakery," which bought my crop for $1.440 per liter, I ended up with a little over $39,000.

With the money from the sale, I went straight back to the store to buy a larger-capacity dump truck for transporting my harvested crops. My current dump truck holds only 8,000 liters, while the one I just bought has almost three times that capacity. This will significantly reduce the number of trips I need to make when selling my crops, which means spending less time on these tasks.

The Midnight Walk on PS5

I'm always on the lookout for something a bit different in the indie-game world and every now and then that something different ends up being really good. I would be lying if I didn't say that most indie games that try to "break the mold" end up being pretty crap though and The Midnight Walk, although beautiful and creepy, is repetitive, slow, and boring too early on for me to really want to continue playing it.

When i watched the demo and even when I first started playing it I was pretty excited because the art style, whatever that is called, is extremely well done. It reminds me of The Nightmare Before Christmas graphics from the film that is so famous, and this really appealed to me.

That picture looks blurry because you start the game out with everything being blurry on purpose. There is also no sound and this is because your character, the nameless character that you are playing, has no eyes and no ears until he is granted them by whatever the hell this is. It's all very creepy, shaky, and in a way very very cool. This is what drew me in to wanting to actually play it.

You are walking through this nightmarish land that looks like a Tool music video from the 90's and doing so to a jazz-sounding soundtrack that is really unlike anything I have ever seen in a videogame before and again, this really appealed to me.

They do unusual things like make you look for something by closing your eyes and listening to where you are supposed to go and this was fine until the noise outside my windows in real life started to interfere with my ability to progress. That's ok though! That's not the game's fault that I have a sometimes noisy street outside my window and it is the one time of the year where it is comfortable from a temperature standpoint to have your windows open.

You quickly encounter creepy creatures, some friend, some foe, with your pack of matches that you light up and need to get new ones in order to light things on fire such as this fire-pit and also candles that you encounter along the way.

The pack of matches thing was really neat until I had been forced to light more and more candles on fire for the 27th time in a row.

I don't know what the deal was here but I guess they didn't really have much in the way of plans as far as what you and your character are actually going to do because for about and hour, that was the only thing I did.

It's quite creepy actually and you can kind of see this character that you are meant to avoid that is peeking around this corner I am ducked behind at the moment of this screencap. He is cool and very oddly terrifying but it is at this point that I realized that stealth is a big part of the next 20 minutes of gameplay and likely a big part of all the rest of the game.

This is where my personal bias has lead me to talk down about this game so much. I loathe stealth games and won't play them. If a game has stealth-optional sections I will normally not opt to stealth. So the fact that this game is already establishing that you MUST do stealth, often with the same stinkin' enemy over and over again, I was getting bored really fast.

There isn't much consequence for the creature discovering you and the game loads your checkpoint really fast, so I will give credit to the devs for that part of it. If it HAD taken a while to load I likely would have bailed on this game far sooner than the 2 hours or so that I managed to make it.

So what happens now? Well you light more matches, keep opening doors in the dismal landscape, hide from baddies, then make your way through some sort of locked area by lighting a bunch of candles and then on the other side you get to do it again!.

In 3rd place we have @saydie. This entry falls under the "Beautiful Scene" category. In their post we are shown a game called Curyeux. This game, believe it or not, was developed by a group of students in only 15 weeks. It features a lot of unique and beautiful scenery. Comeback and Contest Announcement Post

Hey everyone,

It's been a while. I know it's been a bit quiet in the HiveGamingCommunity lately. It's been difficult as the founder to not be able to give this community the time it deserves. Sadly, life threw some curveballs my way and I had to step back for what I thought would only be a short time. Well, we all know how that went. But I'm back, and I'm super excited to get back to it. Luckily, the HiveGC has a lot of amazing members and friends that took care of curation and kept things going in my absence. A special thank you goes out to to all of you.

When I first started the HiveGC, my goal was to create a space dedicated to gamers on the platform. Making sure original gaming content was being curated and getting the attention it deserved. There has been almost no break from that ever since the start and I'm very proud of that fact.

The enthusiasm and dedication of our members are what drove this community and we've had some amazing contests and even tournaments in the past. I've missed being a part of that energy. So, now that I am ready to dive back in. What better way to kick it off than with a little contest. I think it will be a good way to measure the engagement and just generally see who's still out there. So here we go.

This contest is all about capturing those unforgettable gaming moments. Whether it be a clutch play in a competitive game, a hilarious bug or an epic fail that made you LOL. Even if it's just a beautiful screenshot from a game, it counts!

How to Participate:

Choose your moment: Take a screenshot or record a short clip (maximum 30 seconds) of an in game moment that fits one of the following themes:
- Win/Clutch Play: Impressive victory or a moment where you pwned your opponents.
- Glitch/Bug: A funny, unexpected, or bizarre in game moment. These seem to happen a lot lately.(stop releasing unfinished games for 70$ plz...)
- Beautiful Scene: A stunning landscape, a beautifully designed environment, or any beautiful scene from a game(characters included)
- Epic Fail: A moment where everything went wrong in the funniest way.
Create your post in the community: Share your screenshot or video clip in the HiveGC community. Try to explain your post and why it's significant to you. Also try to mention which theme it falls under and why.
