On this occasion, I dedicated myself to photographing an unusual sunset at the park while training.

I was training at the park alongside my students when suddenly the sun began to set completely. Sunsets in my city are usually radiant, brightly illuminated, and warm. But this time, the horizon line was mostly overcast, and only a single section of the clouds began to turn orange and later pink during dusk. I decided to pause my workout to capture the scene.

It was something rare; these photos convey a sense of darkness and pause, very different from the usual sunsets in my city where the sky turns into warm colors that transmit a cozy, beautiful, and even lively atmosphere.

I am not complaining at all. Despite the lack of drama, I love this kind of subtle coloration away from dazzling spectacles. It reminds me of several dreams I have had where the sky turns taciturn with muted purple tones at twilight.

Pausing a training session to capture a fleeting shift in the sky highlights the value of being present in our surroundings. An unexpected break in the clouds transforms a routine workout into a quiet moment of observation.

The contrast between the heavy, overcast sky and the soft pink glow creates a moody, reflective atmosphere. I hope these photographs convey the serene and somber beauty of this afternoon.

I hope you enjoyed these photographs. Without anything more to add, I bid farewell. Stay tuned for future posts! Until next time!

Hello to all my friends, wherever you may be. As always, I hope you are all staying healthy and happy, allowing you to go about your daily activities with ease—may you all have a wonderful day.

A bright, sunny afternoon creates a unique atmosphere, especially when that sense of tranquility unfolds along a roadway lined with trees—a peaceful feeling that is truly beyond words.

This is what I experienced a few days ago while traveling toward the city of Banda Aceh. Specifically, as I passed through the Seulawah mountain area, I was captivated by the profound stillness of the surroundings. The cool, pleasant weather—complemented by the bright, intense sunlight—added a special, welcoming touch, making it the perfect moment for me to capture a few photographs during my journey.

Every bend reveals a truly stunning vista; I am personally in awe of the natural scenery I’ve witnessed along this journey. I believe the few random snapshots I’ve shared above will give you a glimpse into the atmosphere of this stretch of road.

The calls of wild birds accompany me on this trip. The road itself is quieter than usual—which is understandable, given that today is a holiday. Furthermore, the completion and opening of a nearby toll road have likely contributed to the prevailing sense of stillness in this area. If you’re lucky, you might even spot some of the wildlife that has made this place home—such as the troops of monkeys often found along the roadside—though perhaps because it is currently midday, they are nowhere to be seen.

He noticed things I would normally walk past without a second glance. A broken branch, the movement of insects, the way birds disappeared into trees and returned a few moments later. He seemed to find something worth watching in almost everything.

Photo by cottonbro studio from Pexels: https://www.pexels.com/photo/grandfather-and-his-grandson-sitting-near-a-tree-6034437/

I remember one afternoon when he drew my attention to a bird's nest resting between the branches of an acacia tree. It looked rough from where we stood. Dry grass hung from its edges, with little sticks crossing one another in no particular order. Yet it remained firmly attached to the branch.

He watched it for a moment before pointing out how much work had gone into making it. The bird had collected one small piece after another, carrying each with its beak and fitting it into the growing structure. Nothing had been handed to it. It had simply used what it could find.

I was more interested in the bird than the nest that afternoon, so I didn't ask many questions. I had no idea that such a small observation would return to me years later.

I remembered it when I was nineteen, sitting in my room with a laptop in front of me, trying to make sense of what I wanted from life. I had ideas, ambitions and plenty of things I wanted to try, but very little seemed to be falling into place. Some days I would work for hours and still feel as though I hadn't moved an inch.

It was frustrating. I wanted results, preferably quickly. I wanted to see something growing from all the effort I was putting in. And whenever things moved slowly, I began questioning myself. Was I wasting my time? Was everyone else figuring life out while I was still trying to find my way?

The pressure to keep doing something made it even worse. There is always something telling us that we should be working harder, moving faster or doing more. Before long, even resting starts to feel like a mistake.

But I began noticing that being busy and making progress are not always the same thing.

Sometimes, we spend so much energy trying to keep up with everything that we forget what we were trying to build in the first place. We jump between ideas, rush decisions and take on more than we can manage. At the end of it all, we are tired, but the important things remain unfinished.

That afternoon with my grandfather began to make more sense.

The bird had not built its nest by collecting everything it saw. It gathered what it needed and put it to use. A single piece of grass could not make a home, and neither could a small twig. But together, over time, they became something useful.

I find that thought strangely comforting.

I don't have everything figured out. There are things I want to achieve that are still far beyond my reach. Sometimes I write and wonder who will ever read what I've written. Sometimes I try learning something new and get stuck on a problem that seems simple to everyone else. There are also days when I have to put my plans aside because life has other demands.

Still, I am learning not to dismiss small beginnings just because they don't look impressive.

When I write an article, I have only a few paragraphs to work with. When I learn to code, I start with problems I don't always understand. When I think about the future, I cannot see the whole picture. All I can really do is work with what is in front of me.

I sometimes wish I could go back to that afternoon and ask my grandfather what else he had noticed about the bird. Perhaps he would have had another observation, or perhaps he would simply have pointed at the nest again.

Either way, I think I understand why he wanted me to look at it.

Not everything worth building needs to happen quickly. And not every effort needs to be seen by someone else to matter.

That little nest was not impressive because of how it looked. It mattered because it served a purpose. It gave the bird somewhere to return to, somewhere to raise its young, and somewhere to find shelter when the weather turned.

I still have a long way to go with the things I want to build. But I no longer want to spend all my energy worrying about how quickly I am getting there.

For now, I'll keep gathering my little pieces.

A Fishing Anhinga

One striking image features an anhinga—a sleek, fish-eating bird—holding a speared fish on its beak, both raised above the water's surface. The photograph captures the perfect moment of the bird's successful hunt, demonstrating the anhinga's unique fishing technique. Unlike many waterbirds, anhingas swim underwater to pursue fish, then spread their wings to dry in the sun—a behavior beautifully illustrated in this capture.

A Northern Nutcracker

Another remarkable shot introduces the northern nutcracker, a charismatic bird known for its incredible memory and role in forest ecosystems. These remarkable birds can cache thousands of seeds each year and remember the location of many of them, helping regenerate pine forests across northern regions. The photograph likely showcases their distinctive plumage and intelligent expression.

Cuddling Seals

Perhaps the most heartwarming image features seals engaging in affectionate behavior—"cuddling" that reminds us of the complex social lives of these marine mammals. The photograph captures the gentle interaction, highlighting the bonds that form within seal colonies and challenging our understanding of animal emotions and social structures.

A Global Perspective

This gallery represents the best wildlife photography from around the world, connecting us with species and moments we might never encounter otherwise. From fishing birds to caching nutcrackers to cuddling seals, these images celebrate the diversity of life on our planet and the photographers who dedicate themselves to capturing it.

"Photography is a powerful tool for conservation. When people see these images, they connect with species they may never see in person, and that connection often translates into care and protection." — Common sentiment among wildlife photographers.

These photographs not only showcase natural beauty but also raise awareness about the species and ecosystems featured, reminding us of what's at stake in conservation efforts worldwide.

Its time to plant bulbs! Our bulb order was a little late coming so we are a little later than usual but as long as the ground hasn't frozen solid yet its ok.

We are going to plant our spring bulbs in the same beds that currently have Dahlias. The recent freezes have finished off the Dahlias.

When we plant the Dahlias we prep the beds so its easier to plant the spring bulbs. We are planting in an area that was previously part of the gravel driveway so we have to add soil. Digging up a gravel driveway it tough work 😅

This is what a healthy Dahlia looks like. We will divide the tubers before replanting next spring. Dahlias are not hardy enough to survive the Vermont winter and have to be dug up each fall and kept in a cool dry place over the winter then replanted in the spring.

We dug up two 5 gallon buckets of Dahlias this year lol When we first planted them 3 years ago we planted about 25 tubers.

Off to the forest to dump the dead foliage.

Now for the main event. First you have to dig out the topsoil. This is the topsoil we added when planting the Dahlias. You can see the gravel underneath.

My wife brought 300 bulbs this year 🙄 so the Dahlia beds aren't going to be big enough. When expanding the hole, I separated the top soil from the gravel I dug out. The gravel I hauled away to use as fill in a different project. The top soil could be reused.

Once the hole was expanded we add a layer of good soil.

Then we add in some fertilizer, we use Bulb Tone. We planted 4 different beds. I sometimes used different beds for this post to illustrate each step thats why this bed is shaped different than in the photo before (and after).

We mix the fertilizer into the soil and then use the Garden Weasel to level it out.

We used a little table we move around to sort out the bulbs. We ordered tulips, daffodils, crocus, hyacinths, iris and anemone.

Now you can actually plant some bulbs! the depth is important and it varies by bulb type.

Because bulbs are planted at different depths, we added some soil then put some more bulbs in. Then we used the topsoil from the excavation to fill up to ground level. Finally we watered them in. We also put some chicken wire over the new bed to discourage squirrels until the ground freezes hard.

Here's a view of the beds we are working in from last spring. In fact you can see the gap where we planted Dahlias then swapped to bulbs.

1. Binance: Presunto hackeo masivo (Octubre 2026)

Its been a long week of work for a brother.... and im kinda feeling like this pumpkin 🎃

a little empty..... on the inside (drum roll)

HALLOWEEN

and what a time it is, as the weather changes again, reminding me that time passes further, and that the world keeps spinning. My youngest sister carved this pumpkin and its the Black Cat design....hmmmmm, kinda cool.

Unlike the pumpkin 🎃 though, im not quite empty, im just thinking a lot as usual.

But its also been busy nights at work, some would say stressful, which it is, but as i must be a brick wall - i must keep continuing forward and handling business like a champ.

What a heck of an Ecency created picture here....love it 😆

Otherwise i have a spooky version of a prior picture of me.

Thats also, my mom and our dogg on the couch, in the background, and thats sort of my bedrock in this world, everything i came came from her, down the chain of human life. Born, to not be born, or to be unborn.....what wild Halloween, alternate reality kind of stuff is all this 😆

But here we are, just skeletons and pumpkins dancing around, on this epic Rock. The planet, swirling around in infinity. Surrounded by quantum possibilities.

Today though, my post.... will not go on for infinity, in fact i gotta go, glad to get this post done. Trying to catch up on duties while i type. Must settle my thoughts. Markets taking a crap which is interesting, been some sharper drops across the board. Somehow its our blessing maybe, lets get more coins, lets keep rockin somehow.

And lets drop one more Ecency created a.i, image. If you dont have Ecency, its a cool app, i like it, and i have lot of points, so if anyone needs some, please feel free to let me know.

Im blasting back into Space..... Peace ✌️

Feeling at home on one takes about a week, and that week goes a lot smoother with a map. This is that map: what to do on Ecency from the moment you decide to sign up until your first posts have found real readers.

Day 1: Get an account

An Ecency account is a Hive account. That single fact explains almost everything else about the platform: your account lives on the Hive blockchain, secured by keys you hold, not in a company database. No company can delete it and that includes us.

You have two ways in.

The free path. Ecency offers a free signup at ecency.com/signup and a friend already on Ecency can smooth the way with a referral link. Free account creation includes an email verification step, which is normal for how Hive accounts are provisioned.

The instant path. For $2.99 you get a premium signup: a ready-made account created on the spot, with your keys delivered to your email, bonus Points to start with and enough Resource Credits to begin posting immediately. If you just want to start writing today, this is the shortcut.

Whichever you choose, the result is the same kind of account. The paid option buys speed and convenience, not a different class of citizenship. We have wallet signup and ask a friend options as well.

One thing to do before anything else: save your keys somewhere safe, offline if possible. Hive has no password reset. Your keys are the account.

Day 2: Write your first wave

Your first action on Ecency should take less than a minute. Waves are short posts, like a quick status update: no title, no formatting pressure, just a sentence or two.

Open Waves and post your first Wave: who you are, what you are into or what brought you to Ecency and Hive.
Vote on a few Waves you enjoy and reply to one. Conversations start faster in Waves than anywhere else.
Follow a handful of people whose Waves you like, so your feed has life in it from day one.
Do a daily check-in on the Perks page to start your streak and earn Ecency Points.

Day 3: Write your first post

There is a tradition on Hive worth following: the introduction post. Tell people who you are, what you care about, what you plan to write about and add a photo or two if you like. Use the tag "introduceyourself" and post it.

Do not overthink it. The introduction post is not a performance, it is a handshake. Hive has an unusually welcoming culture around newcomers who show up as actual humans and a genuine introduction routinely gets more engagement than a polished essay from a stranger.

The editor will feel familiar: write in plain text or markdown, drop images straight in (Ecency hosts them free), preview, publish. Your post goes on-chain under your account and it starts a seven day window in which other users can vote on it and it can earn rewards from the Hive reward pool.

Day 4: Find your communities

Blogging into the void is the fastest way to give up, so do not do it. Hive is organized into communities: topic homes with their own feeds, subscribers and moderators. Photography, fiction, travel, gaming, gardening, finance, languages, there is a room for almost everything.

Browse ecency.com/communities and subscribe to a handful that match what you actually care about. Then spend a day just reading. Notice which posts do well, what the community rules say and how people talk to each other.

When you post into a community, your post appears in that community's feed, in front of people who already care about the topic. That is the difference between publishing and being read.

Day 5: Understand Points

By now you will have noticed a Points balance ticking up. Points are Ecency's utility currency and they sit on top of your Hive rewards, not instead of them.

You earn Points for free by doing what you are already doing: posting, commenting, voting, checking in daily, completing the daily quests at ecency.com/perks and referring friends. You spend them on useful things: promoting a post to readers across Ecency, boosting a post, a temporary Hive Power delegation through Boost+, the AI writing assistant, AI image generation, or gifting Points to someone else.

You do not need a strategy for Points in week one. Just know the balance is building and that it will be useful later.

Days 6 and 7: Engage like a neighbor
